SERVING

Jesus described the road to greatness as serving; "Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant...just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:26-28) As authentic followers of Jesus Christ, Church on the Hill desires to be a church of servants just as our Lord was the perfect, flawless, and complete servant. Everyone who is a follower of Christ has been given a gift to serve, and as a church we want to provide the opportunity for everyone to find his or her gift and use it for kingdom causes. We carry out this call to ministry by serving ON and OFF the Hill.

Serving ON the Hill

Serving on the Hill is about using our time, talents, and resources to contribute to ministry ON the Hill. This includes Sunday morning and Wednesday night programs or any other ministry that is ELEVATING LIFE in our church.

Serving OFF the Hill in the city

Serving off the Hill in the city is how we do evangelism. We want to commit to ELEVATING LIFE in the city of San Jose in order for people to recognize that Church on the Hill cares for people. The message of life through Jesus will be brought to people through serving them. Once they discover that we care, they will trust the message we are ready to share.

Serving OFF the Hill around the world

Serving off the Hill around the world is the focus of our global missions team. Church on the Hill currently supports over 30 missionaries around the world. Through our financial support, prayers and sending of GO Teams around the globe we fulfill our calling to serve the whole world in order to share the message of Jesus Christ.

By SERVING others we are ELEVATING LIFE on the Hill, in the city, and beyond. Serving creates an openness to the Gospel and develops a trust between the world and the church. That trust will enable us to share the life-giving message of Jesus Christ.
