Spring Week 4 New Life

This week we are in Romans 7:7-25, where Paul is talking about the law and his struggle with the two natures that live inside of him. Paul says he delights in God’s law, yet he does not do what he wants to do. Instead he does what he hates.
This week’s discussion is a huge opportunity for groups as Paul essentially says we ALL struggle, and though our desire is for God, we are still humans with a sinful nature. We will have a massive opportunity to be honest and open with our humanity and the duplicity we all feel. As we dig into those things, please take this opportunity to be honest with yourself and to be comfortable walking in the tension you feel about your struggles. Then wrap up your discussion with the main point: “Thanks be to God!” He saved us–thankfully through Him and by Him, and not by our own works.
