Transforming Lives in Peru…

Our church’s mission program is making an impactful in a suffering community by partnering with an organization called World Help that partners with national organizations to do community development in under-developed countries. They introduced us to Catch the Vision and a village in Porvenir, Peru, on a tributary of the Amazon River, that we could adopt and do a Village Transformation that is radically improving villagers’ lives!

We have completed two phases of the three-year project and need to fund the third phase:

Phase 1 - 2024 - A clean water system - completed!

Phase 2 - 2025: - A school building - completed!

Phase 3 - 2026: - A church building - Sept., 2026 - All $35,250 has ben raised!

Phase 1 - Water System - completed!

The village of Porvenir did not have a clean water system. They were gathering rain water that got polluted. Church on the Hill financed a well and water tower that provides clean water for the whole village. The 2024 GO Team also did kids’ activities, men’s and women’s meetings, and door-to-door visits; and they provided a month’s worth of food for ten families, as well as dedicated the water system..

Phase 2 - School Building - completed!

The village had a rustic, wooden school building, so we helped finance a new, brick school building that will withstand harsh weather. Our 2025 GO Team dedicated the school building; did kids’ activities, men's and women’s meetings, and door-to-door visits; they also provided bed nets and a month’s worth of food for ten families and a lawnmower for the village.

Phase 3 - Church Building - Fall, 2026

In September, 2026, a GO Team will return to Porvenir to dedicate the solid, new church building that was build next to the old wooden one! The team will also do kids’ activities, men's and women’s meetings, and door-to-door visits and provide a month’s worth of food for 21 families in our village and the one above it.

Child Sponsorship

Not only are we impacting children in our adopted village in Peru once a year when we fund a project and take a team there, but we have the opportunity to sponsor monthly some of the children living in poverty there.

Sponsorship would provide necessities like: school supplies, uniforms, shoes, food for them to eat at school and food bags that are sent home with the kids regularly through Hope of Life, and medical care. Sponsors can write to their sponsor child and make a long-lasting impact on the future of these kids and their families.
